Hi Jim—As you can see my name is Dave, and the reason for this message is to ask if you remember a man named Michael Whelahan ? I used to date his sister Patty and we have actually met at the house in Long Beach, where you two were roommates, and you had a piece on the wall that reflected your passion with Dali—
I believe it had a melting watch, (or several) in tribute to your inspiration.
Anyway, I guess the real reason I’m writing is to see if you actually remember those days and if you still remain in contact with Michael, or maybe information about viewings in and around the O.C. area, (i.e. Laguna Beach, ETC.)
I am becoming more interested in your artistic take and view of the world around us all.
I really don’t think that you’ll ever remember me exactly, but if you’re like me you’ll remember that time is a fickle bitch. And as I’m discovering, or re-discovering, the influences in, and on my life.
I’m wondering if you still have that original painting that was hanging in long beach in the late 60’s / early 70’s period.
Anyway, I didn’t intend to ramble.
This quirky anything goes painting features an actual nebula in the sky called “Eye of God”. I like to think of God as an artist who can make the world fun and exiting with the swish of a brush.
